Online (recommended)

The temple committee sells Sheegra Darshan through its official website and mobile app. You choose the date and time slot, enter details of each devotee with ID, and pay online. On festival days, long weekends and the Shravan month, online booking is the only reliable way, because counters can sell out or close early. Save the ticket offline on your phone and carry a printout if you can.

At the temple counter

Counters for the fast-track ticket have been reported near Bada Ganesh temple and the Gate No. 4 side of the complex, with an additional point near the Mahakal Lok entry. Counters open in the morning after the early rituals, and on busy days they may stop selling once the day's slots fill. Carry cash and a UPI app, and the original ID for every person.

Avoid agents and fake sites

Many websites and roadside touts offer "VIP darshan" at several times the official price. The ticket is sold only by the temple committee. If you pay someone else, you are paying for a service the temple does not recognise, and there have been repeated complaints of devotees being turned away.

Which gate does Sheegra darshan use?

Pilgrim reports in 2025 and 2026 describe fast-track ticket holders being routed through the Gate 4 / Bada Ganesh side and then along a separate barricaded lane that joins close to the Nandi Hall. Your ticket may mention the gate; follow it and the signs. Towards the end of the barriers there is a small gate where the ticket is checked again before you are allowed into the viewing area. When VIP or other options are worth more than Sheegra

Sheegra is the cheapest paid option and the right choice for most visitors. There are cases where something else serves you better:

• You want to touch the Jyotirlinga or perform jalabhishek. Sheegra keeps you outside the sanctum. Garbhagriha entry has been sold separately at about Rs 750 per person when open, with a strict dress code, but it has been suspended for long periods. Check whether it is running on your date.
• You are a senior citizen or a person with disability. The temple has offered separate facilitation for these groups, sometimes free with valid ID. It may be easier than a Sheegra line; ask at the enquiry counter.

If you are torn between Sheegra and waiting in the free line, the deciding question is usually the day of the week. On a quiet Tuesday morning the free line may take less than an hour and the ticket saves little.
